How Avaya Users Can Move to The Cloud With Confidence

When Avaya Inc. filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States earlier this year, it was a wake-up call to companies that may have taken their legacy communications system for granted. The writing, however, had been on the wall for some time for Avaya users, beginning with Avaya’s acquisition of Nortel back in 2009—a move that saddled Avaya with significant debt and outmoded technology at a time when the company should have been investing in the future (i.e., the cloud).
With Avaya facing possible bankruptcy, their users are faced with some hard choices: Do nothing (and deal with the potential consequences of inaction), change everything (and rip out expensive equipment that still works) or migrate selectively from Avaya to a platform with a better future.
How to move If you’re an Avaya user, our advice on how to move forward is this: keep calm and carry over what you can. Don’t let anyone convince you that you need to rip and replace your existing Avaya platform in favor of an..

Avaya has announced the end of support for the CS1000M is coming in June 2018. Nortel PBXs were very popular for a wide range of medical facilities, so the end of support for the CS1000M is quite significant. Without support for the CS1000 range, these systems can fall out of service, which can threaten your accreditation with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Case for Hybrid Cloud

In this video blog post Terry McCabe explains why hybrid cloud can be a powerful choice for businesses.

From the Video So, hybrid cloud is interesting. Recently I've been on some panels, sat and watched some of the activities at Enterprise Connect, and it's very clear that the pure play cloud providers, you know, they like to denigrate hybrid cloud. They like to say, you know, it's what you have if you haven't really worked out what cloud can do for you.
Well, in truth, cloud moves at different speeds, and is driven by different things depending on your business needs. Hybrid cloud gives you the ability to leverage assets you've already got, on-premises assets, and combine them with the best of the cloud. Too many people, you know, talk about the cloud as if it's a simple transition. There's complexity and there are different drivers for different people, and to say that one size fits all I think is quite arrogant in a way. We don't know everyo..
